Ingredients:
1 slice of whole grain bread
2 oz smoked salmon
1/2 ripe avocado
1 tablespoon cream cheese (optional)
1 teaspoon capers
A pinch of lemon zest
Fresh dill for garnish (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Prepare the Bread: Toast the whole grain bread to your desired level of crispiness.
Spread Cream Cheese: If using, spread a thin layer of cream cheese on the toasted bread.
Add Avocado: Slice the avocado thinly or mash it with a fork. Spread evenly on the toast.
Layer the Salmon: Place the smoked salmon slices over the avocado.
Add Garnishes: Sprinkle capers and lemon zest over the salmon. Add a few sprigs of dill for extra flavor and decoration if you like.
Season: Season with a little salt and freshly ground pepper to enhance the flavors.
