Hard Boiled Eggs
Ingredients:
6- Large Cage Free or Pasture Raised eggs
Hot Sauce of choice
Instructions:
Place Eggs in Pot:
Place the eggs gently in a single layer at the bottom of a pot. Avoid stacking to ensure even cooking.
Cover with Water:
Fill the pot with cold water, ensuring there's about 1-2 inches of water covering the eggs.
Bring to a Boil:
Put the pot on high heat and bring the water to a rolling boil.
Turn Off Heat and Cover:
Once the water is boiling, turn off the heat. Keep the pot on the hot burner, cover it with a lid, and let it sit for about 9-12 minutes. The exact time will depend on your desired level of doneness: 9 minutes for slightly softer yolks, up to 12 minutes for fully set yolks.
Cool the Eggs:
Carefully remove the eggs from the hot water with a spoon or tongs and transfer them to a bowl of ice water. Let them sit in the ice bath for at least 5 minutes to cool down quickly and stop the cooking process.
Peel and Enjoy:
Once cooled, gently crack the eggs' shells and peel them under running water to help remove any stubborn bits of shell. Your hard-boiled eggs are now ready to be enjoyed!
