Hard Boiled Eggs

Ingredients:

  • 6- Large Cage Free or Pasture Raised eggs

  • Hot Sauce of choice

Instructions:

  • Place Eggs in Pot:

    • Place the eggs gently in a single layer at the bottom of a pot. Avoid stacking to ensure even cooking.

  • Cover with Water:

    • Fill the pot with cold water, ensuring there's about 1-2 inches of water covering the eggs.

  • Bring to a Boil:

    • Put the pot on high heat and bring the water to a rolling boil.

  • Turn Off Heat and Cover:

    • Once the water is boiling, turn off the heat. Keep the pot on the hot burner, cover it with a lid, and let it sit for about 9-12 minutes. The exact time will depend on your desired level of doneness: 9 minutes for slightly softer yolks, up to 12 minutes for fully set yolks.

  • Cool the Eggs:

    • Carefully remove the eggs from the hot water with a spoon or tongs and transfer them to a bowl of ice water. Let them sit in the ice bath for at least 5 minutes to cool down quickly and stop the cooking process.

  • Peel and Enjoy:

    • Once cooled, gently crack the eggs' shells and peel them under running water to help remove any stubborn bits of shell. Your hard-boiled eggs are now ready to be enjoyed!
